Gnomad Theatre Company is proud to debut a new political drama for the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival: PERVERT

JUNE 2nd – 24th, 2018 at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre, 5636 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, 90038

HOLLYWOOD, CA. MAY 3rd, 2018 – PERVERT follows a rising political star whose lust for power is challenged by the demons of his past and present. Sex scandals collide with dark family secrets, and Faustian bargains are made to serve the greater good.

Titus Freeman was supposed to be the Senate Candidate for the new millennium, representing the great state of California. A former longshoreman union leader from Boyle Heights turned Democratic candidate, his election was all but certain until a sex-scandal explodes involving his twenty-year-old wife (18 years his junior). Now their relationship is under intense scrutiny and public debate, along with rumors of a deeply buried family secret. Pervert explores the way past sins can be exposed in the digital age and how powerful people must reconcile the gap between personal morals and political goals in service to the greater good.

Pervert is written and directed by Mexican-American LA native Giovanni Zuniga, a NALIP (National Association of Independent Latino Producers) award recipient, leading an ensemble cast that features rising TV star Robert J. Watkins (Love, Scorpion, Criminal Minds).

Gnomad Theatre Company strives for fair representation of diverse talent, and our debut play is populated by minorities and immigrants who are powerful and nuanced people, with flaws and attributes that anyone can relate too regardless of ethnic background.
