THE SPEAKEASY SOCIETY REMOUNTS CHAPTER ONE AND TWO OF THEIR DYSTOPIAN OZ “ARX” FOR THE LAST TIME – seriously though – this is the last time.

LOS ANGELES (June 1, 2017) – The Speakeasy Society is remounting a special HOLLYWOOD FRINGE addition of Chapter 1 – The Key and Chapter 2 – The Axe for a short run leading at Thymele Arts in East Hollywood. Ripped from the pages of the Frank L. Baum’s “Land of OZ” novels, The Speakeasy Society throws audiences into the middle of an alternate reality experience (ARX) that takes place in real time and evolves according to audiences’ responses.

This is the last time audiences will be able to “start from the beginning” of The Kansas Collection saga. Chapter 3 will remount in June/July and Chapter 4 will premiere in the fall.

Chapter 1 – The Key
After Dorothy left, the Scarecrow took charge of the wonderful land of Oz, but now things have gone awry. Oz and it’s citizens are in distress. There is civil unrest, there is violence in the streets, and you are being recruited to serve in the Scarecrow’s Armed Militia- but there is deception around every corner and things aren’t quite what they seem. Kansas, you have a choice. There’s a storm on the horizon. What side will you be on?

Chapter 2 – The Axe
The Scarecrow has a mission for the new recruits to his armed militia: investigate members of the Patchwork Resistance that have made their way into our world. These rebels are seeking out new recruits themselves, so the task should be a fairly simple reconnaissance mission…but nothing from Oz is what it seems. Things are quickly upended and you must choose where your loyalties truly lie. Allies and friends are very different things. Audience members must decide for themselves what to reveal and what to keep hidden. Just remember…There are no wrong answers…Only consequences.
