A Void

view project

Mary Holland (Veep, UCB) Rachel Sondag (Steppenwolf Theatre) and Timm Sharp (Enlightened, Blunt Talk) star in the play A VOID, a world premiere by writer & director Kirsten Kearse (Blunt Talk)

A VOID will have one preview on June 3 at The Actors Company, 7PM with opening night set for June 10, 8:30PM. The closing performance will be June 18.

ABOUT A VOID
A VOID is a dramatic dark comedy about two sisters, Judith and Rita, weighing the pros and cons of cryogenically freezing themselves until their troubles become a thing of the past. As the debate plays out we learn that Judith’s current misery was caused by Rita’s seemingly flippant life choices. Judith realizes this is her last chance and decides to save her life in a passively brutal way. Drawing on the verbal warfare of Harold Pinter and the farcical chaos of Christopher Durang, A VOID grounds an absurdist concept in the fraught dynamics of sisterhood and asks how far will we go to avoid our problems.

The show also features dancer Arne Gjelten and singer Frances Chewning performing a haunting rendition of Debussy’s “Beau Soir.”
