PODCAST BRINGS CONNECTION TO THE CENTER OF CONVERSATION (AND INVITES YOU TO LISTEN...)view show |
In his first project showcasing his trifecta of writing, directing, and producing expertise, Chris LeVan is bringing connection to the center of conversation in his debut production of Podcast.
Podcast will premiere at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival and challenges viewers to find connection through conversation in a culture inundated with FaceTime, but lacking real face-time.
Punctuated by podcast episodes paralleling crucial exchanges, the play follows Charlie, who seriously needs to master the art of conversation in order to find direction at a crossroads in his life.
“This script is about people finding connection through meaningful and real talks – something that I think has become less prevalent these days, but even more necessary,” says LeVan. “I want our audience to experience something authentic with Podcast.”
Podcast follows the sold-out success of LeVan’s 2016 production of Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy Play: A Contemporary Farce at the Attic Theatre and Film Center in Los Angeles.
You can buy your tickets to Podcast, opening June 17th, at http://www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/4308
