Filipino American Solo Performer from Explores the American Dream and Self-Actualization

Lesley Asistio, a solo artist from Los Angeles, CA, will be performing her one-woman-show, “Nurse Asistio: Living the Filipino American Dream!,” at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. After receiving a theatre grant from the Puffin Foundation to develop it, Asistio will be performing her solo show about the American Dream and self-actualization at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in Hollywood, CA.

Asistio is a Filipina American theatre artist who specializes in acting, directing, playwriting, and solo performance. Asistio has been creating and producing theatre in Los Angeles for more than a decade.

“Nurse Asistio” is about a Filipino woman who in an attempt to fulfill her mother’s hopes for her to become a nurse, tries to attain the American Dream while still staying true to her roots. This multi-character, surrealist-comedy explores dreams, happiness, relationships, and self-actualization.

“Nurse Asistio” will be performed at the Actors Company Little Theatre on June 11 at 2:30pm, June 17 at 1pm, June 18 at 5:30pm, June 24 at 4pm, and June 25 at 5:30pm. Tickets are $15. Group rates are available. Please visit hff17.org/4365 for more information.
