LOS ANGELES, CA (April 28, 2017) — BRAVO 25: Your A.I Therapist Will See You Now, winner of City of West Hollywood’s One City One Pride Festival scholarship, makes its Los Angeles debut as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. This new one woman show will be performed at The Actors Company, 916 N. Formosa Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046, June 3 – 25.

Writer & solo performer Eliza Gibson plays an A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) avatar therapist and six humans in a support group unlike any you’ve ever seen. Broken hearts, addicts in recovery, a polyamorous lesbian awaits the arrival of Superintelligence, someone needs a piece of somebody’s liver? Wait. Amber, the A.I. therapist likes donuts?

BRAVO 25 premiered in Fresno at The Rogue Festival in March 2017 to rave audience reviews: “I was absolutely blown away!” “Each character was superbly defined and imaginable.” “I laughed like crazy!!!” An early excerpt was selected to compete in San Francisco’s PianoFight’s ShortLived competition in February 2016. The show has been in development over the last year, with excerpts being performed in the Bay Area at various venues, including The Marsh, the Red Poppy Art House and Solo Sundays. The show was produced by Beyond Words at Stage Werx Theatre in San Francisco in April 2017.

ABOUT THE WRITER & PERFORMER: Eliza Gibson is a writer and solo performer based in San Francisco. Trained as a classical pianist and drummer, she wrote her first show – Dialogues with Madwomen – in 1995 after returning to the U.S. from the former Yugoslavia, where she had been a humanitarian aid worker. And Now, No Flip Flops?! premiered at the Rogue Festival 2015, and went on to productions at the LGBT Center in San Francisco, and festivals in New York City and Providence, Rhode Island. A clinical social worker, Eliza currently works at a health technology company which may or may not have provided inspiration for BRAVO 25.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR: David Ford was named SF Chronicle’s Theater MVP of the year in 2013. He has been collaborating on new and unusual theater for three decades and has, himself, written several plays. Mr. Ford is a Resident Artist at The Marsh in San Francisco, CA.
