ELECTRICITY

Four Decades, Two Men, One Highly-Charged Love Story…

June 2017…Hollywood, CA… the new LGBT comedy / drama ELECTRICITY returns after it’s 11 week critically acclaimed world premiere to the LA Fringe Theatre festival at the Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd, on June 2, 8, 17, 24 and 25.

ELECTRICITY is a new comedy / drama that explores the journey of two gay men who hook up in a motel room after their tenth high school reunion in small town in Ohio. Gary is so closeted that he hides behind an invented a wife, and Brad is so reckless that he kills his pain with sex, drugs and alcohol because he can’t see far enough into the future to believe he has one. Despite their differences, they have a connection that they can’t ignore which draws them back to that same motel room, and to each other, for every successive reunion from 1983 to 2013.

Playwright / and veteran actor (Gary) TERRY RAY wrote this play to chronicle the journey that so many gay men who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s can so readily relate to, the journey from a place where silence sometimes equaled death, to one where equality might just be a reality.

Brad and Gary’s story is surprisingly funny, heartbreaking and romantic at the same time, as well as so relatable to anyone who has struggled wondering if the person they love is the person they should be with. But the best surprise audiences have reported is how much these characters will stick with you, weeks and even months later.

ELECTRICITY is produced by TMD Productions and MICHAEL DARNER. It co-stars KEVIN SCOTT ALLEN (Brad) and is directed by STEVEN ROSEBAUM.

There is brief nudity.
