Middleschoolandia is an irreverent musical comedy performed by actual middle schoolers. These young people, filled with hormones and hope, are thrust into a frightening world of “education”. As they learn to navigate the complexities and hypocrisies of middle school, they struggle to retain their individuality while being yelled at by overwhelmed teachers, all while toting around a crippling weight in backpacks.

With songs such as “Er, ooh, um” and “The Profanity song”, Middleschoolandia is a musical that everyone can relate to, while pointing out the impossibility of making it through Middleschoolandia unscathed. A hilarious satire on the tragedy of our school system.

Diversity

All the songs and scenes in Middleschoolandia are created by experiences of actual middle schoolers. These young people represent the social economic and cultural diversity of Los Angeles. Inclusion is based entirely on talent, and all children will be given a % of any earnings from the box office. These young people represent the next generation of theater creators, and have designed and painted the props for Middleschoolandia.

The adults in Middleschoolandia play the parents and teachers, overworked and overwhelmed, who continually try and fail.
