UNDER THE JELLO MOLD

Tom Cavanaugh & James Cavanaugh Present: A World Premiere

Under the Jello Mold; Written by Jennie Fahn & Directed by Tom Cavanaugh

Hollywood, CA (June 1-24, 2017) – The World Premiere production of the one-woman show, Under the Jello Mold at The Complex as part of The 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival in the Ruby Theatre, June 2017. The play is written by and starring Jennie Fahn and directed by Tom Cavanaugh.

Under the Jello Mold is Jennie’s Fahn’s one-woman show about how she dealt with her very colorful character of a mother during what turned out to be the final act of her life. Jennie’s mother was a force to be reckoned with: a former dancer, never content to merely rehash her past, there was always a story to be embellished, always a name to drop, and always a lesson to teach. From the inevitability of aging, to criminal acts, to life-changing decisions, Jennie survived the onslaught by finding comedy in every possible tragedy. If anyone could make something ridiculous out of the banal, it was certainly her mom; particularly when it came to where she hid the instructions for what to do in case of her death. Told in anecdotes, characters, and even a little song, the show is full of laughs and a lot of heart. In addition, in an unexpected twist, Jennie learns that her mom had more than just burial instructions hidden Under The Jello Mold…

Jennie Fahn (Actor/Writer) is a writer/actor/director. Her first one-woman show, You Mutha! A One-Mother Show ran for two years in Los Angeles and was featured in the 2005 N.Y. Fringe Festival. As an actor, Jennie will appear shortly (pun intended) in the upcoming features The Twin and Muse, and in the new Showtime episodic I’m Dying Up Here. Los Angeles theater appearances include: Grow A Pair…Of Wings (Lounge Theater), Pride And Prejudice (Actors Co-op), Alice In One-Hit Wonderland 1 & 2, Jackson Frost (Troubies/Falcon), Amadeus (with Neil Patrick Harris – Hollywood Bowl), The Wild Party (Musical Theater Guild), Anyone Can Whistle (Matrix), A New Brain (West Coast Ensemble), Up The Week Without A Paddle (Neurotic Young Urbanites), and Wonderful Town (Reprise!). Or you may see her in a re-run of one of her television appearances on The Middle, Heroes, Without A Trace, The Bernie Mac Show, My Name Is Earl, Will And Grace and Becker. She recently wrote and directed her short film, Break, as well as directed several episodes of the web series Insult To Injury. She also is the writer/co-star (with Tippi Hedren) of the short Tea With Grandma. Jennie is the proud wife of Jonathan, and mom of Harry and Sammy.
