Los Angeles, CA. (June 27, 2016) – Writer Performer Nancy Murphy’s solo show Freak Out!, a funny and serious look at turning 60, has received an Encore! Producers’ Award from the Hollywood Fringe Festival after a four show sold out run at The Actors Company in Los Angeles.

Two new shows are being added on Friday July 8 at 7pm and Saturday July 30 at 6pm. Tickets are $10. and are available online at http://www.theencoreawards.com/projects/3477 and at the door.

Story:
As the clock ticks on the night before her 60th birthday, a woman tries comically and increasingly desperately to come to terms with aging, culture, sexuality, and ultimately mortality. Will she wise up or break down?

Fringe Reviews:
“I liked how she used both humor and poignancy to describe her experience, and was not afraid of serious, deeper moments when so many pieces only skirt the surface.”

“…thoughtful, charming, insightful, and a real pleasure, regardless of how far away you might be from your own 60th birthday!”

“She’s laugh-out-loud funny and yet, this is a journey that goes deeper than the ‘topicals’ she relies on for skin care, this is a journey that leaves us planted firmly in life affirming zone.”

“I like laughing and crying at the same show!”
