TONY DANZA’S LETTERZ 2 2PAC: AN EVENING WITH TONY DANZA, a one-man show created and performed by Steven Benaquist makes its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival for five performances.

Tony Danza has been a lot of things in his life: Professional boxer, sitcom star, tap dancer, talk show host, teacher. He also reached out to 2Pac Shakur, writing the rapper when he was in prison. Though the two did not know each other, Shakur wrote back, and a correspondence developed. Now only Mr. Danza knows the contents of those letters, but LETTERZ 2 2PAC tries to imagine what they might have contained… and what it would look like if Tony Danza himself put on a one-man show about it.

Steven Benaquist is a writer and comedian living in Los Angeles. He has been on Conan, written for Spike, History, BBC, and contributes sketches to NPR’s ‘American Parlor Songbook’. He is a graduate of Vassar College, where he studied theater and performed sketch comedy. He has performed sketch, standup and improv at clubs around the country and in many festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe, RIOT LA, LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bass Comedy Festival, New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival and more. This is his first Hollywood Fringe Festival and the debut of LETTERZ 2 2PAC.
