If you are looking for a rip roaring musical extravaganza like Pippen or something a bit more Wicked perhaps do check out the Pantages Theatre. But for a most unusual and intriguing hour or so of theatre art do get yourself over to the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood and immerse yourself in the multi-faceted world of Denee Jordan and her good friends “Roger the Rager, “Verna Eterna” and other creations of her powerful mind. You see Denee is actually Dr. Denee Jordan a clinical Psychologist with over two decades of real world experience. As she walked that road Denee learned as much about herself as she did of those she worked with and that awareness grew into a revelation of wisdom; a process and a result she eloquently shares in her show “I am Already Well” currently at the Lounge Theatre for a limited engagement.

She opens her show with two volunteers. Do it. It is painless and very instructive but I am not going to spoil the event. Indeed Denee’s presentation is the most unique I have ever experienced on any stage anywhere. I attribute the unique and endearing quality of this work to her background which in addition to immersion into practicing psychology also includes many years as a professional dancer. So as it happens Dr. Denee Jordan has a unique blend of stage presence, academic and real world knowledge and a large dose of emerging wisdom. It really is well worth the time and very modest cost of only $19.

I must say, however, that as Denee peels back the story of her life revealing various paths well-traveled that lead her to a place far more imbued with wisdom, less fear driven with acceptance and true freedom I saw an inescapable parallel to my own life and ultimate result as revealed in my book “Live Die Live Again.” I apologize for the seemingly obvious appearance of self-promotion here; that is not my intent. Rather I found myself drawn even deeper into Denee’s story as it took a far more personal turn than might have otherwise been the case.

In any event Dr. Denee Jordan presents a captivating mentally invigorating and in many ways very fun show presented in a most unique manner.
