HOLLYWOOD, CA (May 11, 2015) – What Be G★d Is Blessing premieres at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2015. A raw look at PTSD, homelessness, and life after war, What Be G★d Is Blessing is the story of a young Armed Forces veteran who, shell-shocked and heartbroken, struggles to create an existence on the streets and in the shelters of downtown skidrow L.A. After returning from tour in Afghanistan, he takes his wife dancing one night. As she starts dancing with another man, he quickly realizes they are too familiar with each other and attacks the other man. Or did he? Everything is a blur. He ran away and never looked back. Now living on the streets of L.A., he struggles to remember and struggles to forget.

Written and performed by Sean Topps, East Forty First Company presents a story that explores the world of PTSD, war, violence, relationships, family and how they all interact. With over 4,000 veterans homeless in L.A., this show comes at a time of nearly two decades long U.S. armed conflict in Afghanistan, as we continue to argue the justification of war, the necessity of violence and the struggles that veterans and their loved ones face after coming home. Opening Sunday, June 7 at the East Theatre at The Complex, this solo performance will make you think: If G-d Bless America, then What Be G★d Is Blessing?

Sean Topps is an L.A.-based actor, originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, but he could probably convince you he is from anywhere in the world because his accents are brilliant. Recent themes in his work have surrounded military life in such projects as Peter Kosminsky’s miniseries The Promise and Mendel Katz’s viral web video Daddy Come Home. This is Sean’s first Hollywood Fringe.
