THE COWBOY SOUL CONTEST REHEARSAL – An open-mike competition of personal storytelling pits contestants against each other for the chance to win Cowboy Soul of the Month. When it appears that the competition is actually being rehearsed to a fevered pitch of false sincerity, controlled chaos ensues. This comic and musical romp marvels at the earthy gentility, the ‘cowboy soul’ that can still be found in our current age of irony and reality television. Michael Keith Allen directs this new one act comedy by M. Nasorri Pavone.

M. NASORRI PAVONE (Playwright/Producer) is a poet and the author of four full-length plays: Monkeyshine, Feeding Time, Side Dish and Carnal Escapades (of the Self-Possessed). Her plays have been produced in Los Angeles by Play in the Box, the Westchester Playhouse, West Coast Ensemble and The Virginia Ave Project. Feeding Time celebrated its world premiere at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
MICHAEL KEITH ALLEN (Director/Producer/Actor) teaches at the Art of Acting Studio and is Resident Set Designer. His designs for AofA include the productions, Waiting for Lefty, Marisol, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Fifth of July, Long Way Go Down (Ovation Award Nomination 2013), Killer Joe, Reasons to be Pretty and Lebensraum (Ovation Award Nomination Best Ensemble 2014) His regional acting credits include The Three Musketeers (Porthos), Biloxi Blues (Sgt. Toomey), After the Fall (Quentin), The Crucible (Proctor), As You Like It (Orlando) and Twelfth Night (Malvolio). Michael is also directing the next AofA production: Macbeth, opening June 19th. He holds an MFA from the National Theatre Conservatory at the Denver Center.
