The meaning of performing this play in the U.S.:
We will provide a bridge of cultural exchange between Japan and the U.S. by performing this Japanese play in English. Instead of introducing traditional Japanese culture, this play will introduce a unique and contemporary Japanese dynamic to the world.

Plot:
Vengeance Can Wait navigates Japanese sub-culture as it charts a dark, twisted and touching, “different” kind of love story.

A word from the Director…

Hi everybody – my name is Yukari Black. I am the executive producer and director of this production. I am very excited to introduce you all to a talented group of actors and to share with you their portrayal of the intriguing characters in this story. In Hollywood, Japanese culture has typically been depicted in the roles of samurais and geishas, or by soldiers in war movies. I have been in some of these films and I do love traditional Japanese culture. This June, however, I would like to share a portrait of modern Japanese youth, as written by contemporary, groundbreaking author and playwright, Yukiko Motoya, and present this work to more audiences in the U.S.. The play delivers plenty of laughs, while it digs into the characters’ subconscious and, as the story unfolds, it takes unexpected twists and turns. It is a dark and avant-garde, yet warm and heart-felt drama. We will bring to you a passionate performance — please do not miss it!
Please let us enjoy the journey TOGETHER!!
