Poly Bunker Sings

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 23 – When Rana Rines and David Harper get together, things get weird. And now they’re bringing that weirdness to the Lounge Theatre.

One year ago, they met over a cup of coffee. Before their cups were empty, they had decided. They would be together. Forever. Not romantically, but as friends and co-creators of groundbreaking new theater. And one year later, their groundbreaking play is breaking ground in the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Their new play, Poly Bunker Sings!, is actually three plays in one. Billed as “Three short plays in which Poly Bunker never sings,” it explores love, lust, and obtuse obsession. The first vignette is a sitcom that explores the pleasure and (mostly) pain of a polyamorous foursome living in a single house.

They then move on to a dark comedy about two strangers locked in a mysterious bunker. After seven months alone together, the sexual tension runs high.

Finally, the play ends with a musical about Darlene (pronounced Darlin’), a redneck from Amite County, Mississippi, who comes to LA to meet her dreamboat, Tom Hanks. Will she find him? Will Tom Hanks maker her a star? Or will she get lost on the mean streets of the cruel city?
