J. CARRYL'S LA BETE ROARS INTO THE FRINGE

La Bete

view project

It’s forty-five minutes to curtain and Diva Marian Davis can’t remember her lines. When her producer Alan Babik, King of Broadway comes up with a plan to save the production, Marian balks but it’s either that or the ax. Comedic and ultimately tragic, what follows is a contemplation of mortality and an examination sixties counter-culture in light of the current cultural revolution.

Writer June Carryl teams up with actor/director/producer James Carey who can be seen in the highly regarded COMING TO ZIMBABWE at Studio/Space and actor/producer Mark Motyl, Gloucester in Long Beach Shakespeare Company’s upcomping KING LEAR, alternating with Carey.

LA BETE premiers Saturday June 7th at 8pm at the Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Boulevard and performs June 12th at 6pm, June 18th at 10pm, June 21st at 12pm, June 26th at 10pm and June 29th at 4pm.
