SATIRICAL SKEWERING OF ENTERTAINMENT PREMIERES AT THE HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

History of the Biz: Part 1-Acts

view project

William Shakespeare struggles to break through as a writer at the Globe Theater when he is consumed with the idea of experimenting in the vernacular. 19th century book agents Arnold Leibheim and Samuel Grisham represent some of the literary world’s greatest – and rising – literary talent, providing the type of expert career management sure to make them stars. David Mamet decides to call it a career – but not before writing one final, searing piece that exposes the throbbing, dark underbelly of human treachery and deceit in a thrilling modern noir masterpiece.

These are just three of the collection of one act plays that make up “History of the Biz: Part 1-Acts”. It is a hilarious attack on the entertainment industry that uses humor, insight and clever dialogue to lay bare the lunacy that occurs behind closed doors – and on the stage or screen. Leaving no stone unturned, each performance showcases a satirical rendering of what it means to entertain.
