CSULA Goes to the Fringe

The Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 13 thru 30, 2013

WHAT:
CSULA Goes to the Fringe is a recognized student organization, spawned by a group of MFA graduate students at California State University, Los Angeles, with the goal of increasing student knowledge and participation at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. To date we have raised over $4,000 both from the Association Student, Inc., Office of Graduate Studies and Research, and private funding sources to support four productions at the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Coping with the loss of their mother to Cancer, Abigail and Tasha have a bone to pick with the demon cat that threatens their grandmother’s health. Their refusal to lose another woman in their life makes their mission relentless, even if they have to become cat killers.

Who deserves the spot on the springboard to salvation? Through their I-was-here-first argument, a man and a woman are forced to re-live moments of their past, and the traumatizing events that led them both to a bridge in an attempt to end their lives.

One Drop of Love travels through time, space and ‘race’ to explore the relationship between a culturally Mixed daughter and her Pan-Africanist father, both in search of their ‘racial’ roots.

Wings, by Arthur Kopit
Directed by Naomi Bennett
Reality, time, and space shatter in the moment of Emily’s stroke. Through dance-theatre, visual imagery, and an integrated soundscape, this production of Arthur Kopit’s Wings brings the audience into Emily’s world, from her point of view, as she begins to piece her consciousness back into a type of reality.
