From the writer of the 2012 Hollywood Fringe breakout hit, Jennifer Aniston Stole My Life, Jon Courie’s powerful family drama, To Carry the Child, is about the devastating effect of parental homophobia on gay children and the transformative power of forgiveness.

Filled with both heartbreak and humor, To Carry the Child tells the story of Ashley, a struggling young lesbian artist in a battle for her life, who leaves behind a fractured relationship in New York for the comfort of family and home, only to find broken picket fences along the way.

“The story of a moment in the life of a family in turmoil is painted in broad, yet wonderfully intimate and specific strokes. Jon Courie’s poetic play is metaphysical, philosophical, yet downright elegiac.”
