A legendary stage magician bids farewell to eighty years of magic. Through a series of flashbacks, his life story unfolds as his greatest performances live again.

DeMystifying Magic is a full-length one-man show. Though packed with a unique presentation of pure magic effects, it is much more than just a magic show.

The show tracks celebrated entertainer, Richard Ryder portrayed by Bob Gebert. Richard, the son of a legendary magician became a child prodigy when his father put him on stage at age 5. He catapulted to world-wide fame as the spokesman for a cereal company. Life seems perfectly glamorous at this point until he was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee and was blacklisted for 20 years. His life changes forever when he falls into the arms of his love, Elaine, who teaches him to speak his soul through magic.

As an actor, Bob Gebert has appeared in numerous network television shows including The Office, Monk, Criminal Minds, Lie To Me, and Party Down. He has played major roles in a number of independent films and has performed in over 150 stage plays. He taught an on-going technique class to working actors at Actorsite.
