LUNA NOCTILUCA BRINGS THE ULTIMATE FEMME FATALE TO HOLLYWOOD FRINGE.

Luna Noctiluca

view project

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Los Angeles) Luna Noctiluca is a remix of the works Salomé by Oscar Wilde and Charles Mee reimagined by combining elements of both plays to highlight the dynamic nature of sex, love and power. Salomé, daughter of Herodias, Princess of Judea is often portrayed as either naïve or monstrous for her terminal pursuit of prophet Jokanaan. A fascinating story with centuries of reinterpretations based on a few biblical sentences, this retelling boldly searches for the humanity within the story by raising provocative questions about women and sex in society.

Director, actor, and writer Brooke Silva brings her first play to the Hollywood Fringe Festival beginning on June 11th. The show features a contemporary soundtrack, dance and theatrical movement.. Miss Silva hopes to blend the ancient and modern to reflect the dualistic nature of reality, updating Wilde’s work and making Mee’s more accessible. Luna Noctiluca will challenge audiences’ preconceived notions of sexuality, femininity and civilization.
