Theatre Unleashed brings back the crowd favorite for the Fringe Festival, along with a 24-Hour Theatre event and a co-production of the hit musical [title of show]

LOS ANGELES – 25 Plays Per Hour is back by popular demand!

After a sell-out run at last year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival, Theatre Unleashed immediately decided to bring back its running series for this year’s Fringe, playing at Theatre Asylum Lab for seven shows from June 8-30.

The rebirth of the Super Short, 25PPH features 25 original plays with a handful of the company’s premiere actors playing over 50 characters…in less than an hour. Fusing comedy, drama and everything in between, these amazing pieces make for speed theatre at its best!

“25 PPH put TU on the map at last year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival so we knew right away we wanted to do it again,” said Carlos Martinez, the company’s artistic director. “It’s the perfect show for a Fringe Festival, great short works that challenge the ensemble to tackle multiple roles in less than an hour.”

25PPH makes its return with 25 brand new scripts, a new director and a new ensemble.
“I am so excited to step into the directing role for this TU signature series,” said director Aaron Kozak, who has made a splash in previous Fringe Festivals with his shows The Birthday Boys and Round Rock. “I’m certainly looking forward to the challenge of raising the bar another notch in 2013.”

Along with 25 PPH, Theatre Unleashed is also co-producing the hit musical [title of show]…no that’s not a typo…with new company Village Idiom Productions. Plus, TU will once again offer another of its 24-Hour Theatre Events called Go Ahead, Make My…” TU’s presence at Fringe bolsters an already impressive Main Stage schedule for the company that includes Round Rock (currently playing) as well as the Steven Dietz’ classic Trust and the return of KAWL Presents It’s a Wonderful Life, a Radio Play for the Stage.
