Delilah Dix-Americas Showgirl!
June 14-28 at the Elephant Stages

Starting June 14th, The Elephant Stages and The Hollywood Fringe Festival will present Delilah Dix-Americas Showgirl. This musical comedy is written by and starring Amy Albert, with original music by Cody Owen Stine and directed by Peter Michael Marino.

Delilah Dix, who is one part Barbara Streisand, three parts gin, shaken until passed out, and star of many Lifetime Television for Women presentations such as The Monster in my Washer/Dryer and My Secret Life As A Clown, is in the slammer and this time it’s serious. She was caught smuggling an orphan in an endangered Koala skin over the US border, and is pleading her case to her parole officer to get back on the streets and her to adoring fan(s). In this one hour maniacal musical comedy extravaganza, take a trip down memory lane with boozy and pill addled Delilah as she takes you through her life from her first audition to her current status as America’s biggest, brightest, currently disease free star!

Amy Albert is a UCB trained improviser, stand up comic and musical character comedienne who’s toured all over the US and UK performing in clubs, theaters and festivals with her creation, Delilah Dix. She’s performed in the LAFF festival in Austin, Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, Ars Nova, Laurie Beechman, Don’t Tell Mama, UCB NYC and LA, The Peoples Improv Theater, and was a critics pick in the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Amy hosts a monthly character showcase called Mustache Riots at The Clubhouse. She’s been seen in multiple national commercials and is a proud member of The Story Pirates, a group that takes kids stories and turns them into musical sketch comedy. Peter Michael Marino is a NYC-based writer, actor, director and teacher whose work has been seen on three continents. He has directed and developed dozens of shows including Delilah Dix (Ars Nova, Laurie Beechman Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe), Mark Giordano’s Mad Man (The PIT), Sheila Head’s Head Games (IO West), and Alicia Levy’s Chickapalooza (Ars Nova). As a performer, he is currently touring the world with his acclaimed solo comedy Desperately Seeking the Exit which traces the making of his West End flop musical, Desperately Seeking Susan. www.petermmarino.com

Cody Owen Stine is a composer, lyricist, arranger, librettist, and musical director.
