Contact Catherine Pelonero

Hollywood, CA – Another Effing Family Drama, an absurd comedy by playwright Catherine Pelonero, will have a world premiere production at ArtWorks Theatre in Hollywood in June as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. There will be one preview performance on Saturday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. with opening night set for Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 p.m. Dan Berkowitz directs the ensemble cast that includes Monica Martin, Josh Brewster, Eva Minemar, Kenny Johnston, Jack Hunter and Ann Ryerson, known for her work as a Second City cast member and more recently in the recurring role of Nan Funkhouser on Curb Your Enthusiasm and as Elsa Kittridge on Mad Men.

Another Effing Family Drama is a wild comic play that gives a swift, absurd kick in the rear to the traditional family drama. The story centers on June, a self-proclaimed “sympathetic main character full of needs” who comes home to have a typical confrontation with her ailing mother, but June’s hopes of kitchen sink drama are dashed, smashed and served up raw when she finds the Effing family invading her space. Another Effing Family Drama is an irreverent comedy for anyone who’s tired of the kitchen sink!

Another Effing Family Drama will play a limited engagement at the Hollywood Fringe Festival through June 26. There will be one preview performance on Saturday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Opening night, which is also opening night of the Hollywood Fringe Festival itself, is on Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 p.m. Performances continue on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 p.m.; Saturday, June 25 at 3:00 p.m.; and closing on Sunday, June 26 at 5:00 p.m. Ticket price is $10. Psychotherapy Meets Acting- Workshop

The ‘Already Well’ Performers’ Workshop- We all develop sophisticated defense mechanisms in an effort to feel ‘Safe, Valuable, and Connected’. These mechanisms, (anger, shyness, self-criticism, etc.) can get in the way of our ability to give our best performance. Dr. Denee Jordan, a Clinical Psychologist and veteran performer teaches how to recognize and make peace with these parts of ourselves(our‘characters’).

Ray Bradbury's "Pillar Of Fire"

In the year 2349, the world has been cleansed of both superstition and dead bodies. But in a windy graveyard, a 400 year-old corpse stirs! William Lantry is the last dead man on Earth. And he just woke up... This rendition of Ray Bradbury’s 1948 Pillar Of Fire is 50 minutes of pure prose magic; a loving tribute to the Master Of Imagination by an actor who adored him. Pillar Of Fire was written at a time when Americans were burning comic books to protect young minds from the dangers of "morbid entertainment." Come hear Ray Bradbury's powerful response to the burners of books and destroyers of imagination. The text includes Bradbury's famously eloquent defense of Halloween.
