Cabaret Director Bella Luna Takes on HFF17 Social Media Manager Position

Hellloooo Fringe! My name is Bella Luna and, despite being quite strange, I am no stranger to Hollywood Fringe. In fact, I’ve been involved with the festival since 2011. I started off simply stage managing a production that was going to be performing in a festival. I had no idea what Hollywood Fringe was! Through some well placed karmic connections, I ended up performing at the Opening Night party, helping out with a Fringe-registered magic show, and assisting the Fringe Cabaret Director, Jon Armstrong, schedule some performers on the cabaret stage. I spent many a glorious night basking in the glow of the Fringe Central tent (yes, 2011 was a tent year). I met so many beautiful people with incredible energy. We drank, laughed, sang live-band karaoke, and had a Goonies screening. It became apparent fairly quickly that I had fallen in love with all things fringe.

The following year, Jon moved on to being a member of the Board of Directors and I was asked to join the staff as the new Fringe Cabaret Director. The cabaret stage gives participants the ability to showcase snippets of their show to entice audience members to come check out the full production. It also helps the fringe community decide which shows they definitely want to see. By taking the position of Director, I was able to dive further into the Fringe family and help participants promote their shows. I love being able to work directly with our fringe community. The level of talent I get to meet each and every season never fails to blow my mind. Being a part of the Hollywood Fringe has been a huge gift and I’ve loved every minute of it!

This year, in addition to continuing with Fringe Cabaret, I am taking on the responsibility of Social Media Manager. This position comes with the perk of working closely with our Communications Director, the amazing Stacy Jones Hill! I’m excited to dig into this role and help keep our community informed of all the going-ons. Our social media will keep you connected, even before the festival starts. When you look at our posts, you will find deadline reminders, special events announcements, and how-to information, as well as official fringe photos, memories, and silly candids. I am a huge fan of social media and what it can do for a company. I look forward to helping “the little festival that could” grow even more in the years to come and I can’t wait to see you all around #hff17!

In the meantime, make sure you’re following the official Hollywood Fringe social media accounts:

Happy Fringing!
